Captain Emma Henderson MBE
Former Airline Captain and Speaker
About
Captain Emma Henderson is a former airline captain, charity CEO, and founder of Project Wingman, which she established during the COVID-19 pandemic to support NHS frontline workers. With over 30 years of aviation experience, Emma became one of the world's few female airline captains, earning the nickname "Captain Emma" after starring in an ITV documentary.
Her leadership abilities were honed in a male-dominated industry and demonstrated through her success in uniting 6,500 volunteers to provide vital services to NHS staff. Emma's extraordinary efforts earned her an MBE in 2021. As a STEM Ambassador and Aviation Ambassador for the UK Department for Transport, she now inspires future generations of aviators. In 2023, she was named Businesswoman of the Year for her achievements in both aviation and charity work.
