About
David Bryan is a rural development, social enterprise, and environment professional with over 15 years of experience. As the Head of Sustainable Business at the Social Enterprise Academy, David has led projects in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, working closely with communities to foster social enterprise. He was also a lecturer at the University of the Highlands & Islands, where he helped launch the first degree program in Rural Development.
David’s work focuses on community-led development, sustainability, and the positive impact that social enterprises can have on local economies. In addition to his role at the Social Enterprise Academy, David is a vice-chair of Circular Communities Scotland and has been an Associate Lecturer at The Open University for over two decades. With a passion for rural development and the environment, David is dedicated to helping communities thrive through sustainable, community-focused solutions.
