Laura Elin Pigott
Clinical Neuroscientist and Speaker
About
Laura Elin Pigott's fascination with the brain led her from physiotherapy to clinical neuroscience research at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology (NHNN). She has studied cancer surveillance in the brain, neural mechanisms of neurological conditions, and the impact of social media on brain development.
At just 22, Laura became the youngest person in the UK to lecture on neuroscience and neurorehabilitation. Her early teaching roles at the University of the Highlands & Islands and ongoing collaborations at The Open University reflect her commitment to education.
Laura delivers seminars on topics ranging from human development to neuroplasticity and memory for academics, universities, schools, and the public. Her ability to translate cutting-edge research into practical insights ignites curiosity and empowers audiences to understand-and shape-their own brain health. Laura's work champions the idea that everyone can contribute to the discoveries that lie ahead in neuroscience.
Key Topics
1. Human Development: Exploring how we become who we are.
2. Brain Cancer: Advances in diagnosis, treatment, and research.
3. Neurophysiology & Neuropathologies: Understanding dementia, Parkinson's, MS, Huntington's, MNDs, and more.
